Soccer doesn’t necessarily get the same amount of attention in the United States as other sports such as (American) football and basketball but it is nonetheless a highly-regarded and frequently played sport — especially for younger people. There are, for example, more than 8,200 youth soccer clubs in the country, and that may not even include the thousands of high school soccer teams active every year. In general, more than three out of five American youths ages 6 to 17 play sports outside of school. Overall, more than 21 million kids play at least one sport. This may not come as a surprise but needless to say, Americans love their sports.
Soccer, like many other sports, imbues in children valuable lessons they will need later in life: discipline, teamwork, respect, integrity, hard work, perseverance, etc. It is no wonder why it is one of the most popular high school sports in the country today. In fact, some teams are devoted to soccer so much that they take their passion to the next level.
International soccer tours are a wonderful way for young, aspiring soccer players to pursue the sport they love and see the world while doing it. Youth soccer tournaments are found throughout the country and throughout the world. European soccer tours in particular provide amazing outlets for athletic youths to hone their skills and learn a thing or two about the world around them. What young soccer player wouldn’t love, for example, to play in Spain? Italy? England? These are just a few of European countries that host a variety of soccer tournaments for people of all nationalities.
European soccer tours are incredible but they’re not the only soccer tours in town. Tours to Central America (such as El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Guatemala) and South American (such as Brazil and Argentina) are also terrific experiences for kids.
